Protesters clash with riot police at pension reform demonstration in Paris

Protesters clashed with riot police at a massive demonstration on Tuesday, February 7, in Paris, against a planned pension reform which would raise the age of retirement to 64.
Unions and France’s left-wing parties have been calling for a string of strikes and protests since President Emmanuel Macron’s government announced the bill in January.
According to the Interior Ministry, some 757,000 protesters took to the streets on Tuesday, with one of France’s largest union, the CGT, estimating the number to be closer to 2 million.
